My daughter would not attend mainstream school anymore if it wasn’t for the fact she wants to go to J16 Hair and Beauty on a Tuesday. It’s given her a new lease of life. She can see the light at the end of what’s been a very dark tunnel. My daughter is enjoying working practically doing something she has an interest in. The staff seem very pleasant and understanding.

I’ve been really impressed with the Island Project, it’s the first time in months my child actively gets out of bed, gets ready and actively looks forward to every session. It’s such a positive step forward and I like the way there is some education weaved into their activities without this being overt. Highly recommend for any children who need space away from school and the opportunity to care for animals, take part in other practical activities.

To a large extent we have seen a positive attitude from Z and we are grateful (student attends Derby City Boxing Academy)

I would just like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who is supporting S with her time at Junction 16 Hair and Beauty. S has come on a long way since attending your setting and has been given another chance to show her true self. S has been an absolute angel and her attitude at home and school has been a big change. She has been a lot better with attending school at the correct time. S is looking forward to leaving school with knowing what grades she needs to support her with a hair apprenticeship when she leaves school. The reports we received from the provision and J16 was brilliant to go through with S, as these are very positive reports from the staff on what she has been doing…..this has been big encouragement for S.
