At Let’s Make Change (LMC), our mission is to provide a flexible and nurturing alternative provision that re-engages learners through personalised, 1-1 tutoring and/or mentoring within the community. We believe every learner deserves a bespoke educational journey that not only covers the foundations of Maths and English, but also sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and inspires a love for learning.
Our Offer Includes:
- Functional Skills in Maths and English (see additional costs)
- PSHE and Mentorship to support personal and social development
- Our Value Project – mentoring provision
- Vocational sessions including arts & crafts, sports, and other practical activities
- Independence-focused sessions to build life skills and confidence
Your Value Project:
Your Value Project is Lets Make Change’s mentoring provision designed to support children (KS3-KS4) and learners who face barriers to accessing mainstream education. The project delivers mentoring through an informal, relationship-based approach that is guided by a structured plan to increase engagement and build positive rapport with learners. Lets Make Change works across specific areas of a learner’s life to support the development of confidence, future goals and aspirations, a positive and healthy identity, improved decision-making, and greater awareness of trust, peer influence, and how to manage peer pressure effectively.
By focusing on these key areas, we believe the learners who would benefit most from the Your Value Project are those experiencing challenges accessing mainstream education. The project aims to improve coping strategies, behaviours, and mindsets, supporting learners to successfully re-engage and transition back into full-time mainstream education.
Supporting Learners with Social, Emotional and Mental Health:
Tutors receive supervision and guidance to understand and support learners with SEMH barriers
We tailor each programme to the learner’s needs, combining educational support with emotional and social development
Tailored Support for Special Educational Needs:
- Individualised packages to meet academic, personal, and vocational goals
- Flexible delivery in home* or community environments
- Focus on promoting learning, independence, and overall well-being
- Session Location
All Let’s Make Change sessions will be delivered on-site in school settings, at a community venue, or in the learner’s home* (a parent must be present for any home-based sessions).
Additional Costs:
In addition to the agreed hourly rate, schools are responsible for covering the cost of Functional Skills exams that learners take. If a learner requires taxi transport to sessions, this cost is also the responsibility of the school. Let’s Make Change (LMC) provides tutors who hold business insurance and enhanced DBS checks, enabling them to safely transport learners to and from sessions when required.
What to Wear:
Learners are advised to wear casual everyday clothes that are appropriate & allow them to participate in session without any barriers.
Qualifications & Outcomes:
Working with Let’s Make Change (LMC) helps learners engage more in education, strengthens families’ relationships with educational services, and ensures effective safeguarding in all sessions. Learners can access Functional Skills in Maths and English, ASDAN awards for personal and employability development, and Arts Awards to build creativity and confidence. These qualifications are delivered through tailored 1‑to‑1 and community-based programmes to support education, independence, and future pathways.
