One of our Year 11 part time students attending J16 Construction recently completed a great practical project with a really personal touch.
As part of his time in the workshop, he built a wooden bench for his garden at home. His aim was simple – to give his mum somewhere nice to sit outside and enjoy a morning cup of tea when the weather’s good.
He worked through the full process, from measuring and cutting to putting everything together, showing good focus and determination throughout. It’s been great to see his confidence grow while working on something that clearly meant a lot to him.
The finished bench is something he’s really proud of, and rightly so. A lovely example of practical skills being used to create something meaningful.
Well done – we hope it gets plenty of use this summer!
