A group of students from Kingsmead School were the first to take part in the D of E Bronze award as part of the Junction 16 Outdoor Education provision.
They embarked on a two-day, one night Mountain bike Expedition which took place at Cannock Chase forest trails. They’ve been working through the @MIAS Junior mountain bike leader scheme to get them ready for the event, ensuring they had fully prepared themselves; basic trailside mechanics, personal riding, packing for a journey, emergency situations and understanding the weather were all a part of the planning phase. Alongside this, that had to cook a meal, set up tents and manage areas of a campsite to round it off.
The group fully committed themselves to the trip, ensuring successful outcomes for all.
