Our Motor Vehicle workshop is equipped with a wide range of industry-standard tools and equipment, giving students hands-on experience in a real workshop environment. Facilities include tyre changing and wheel balancing equipment, four-wheel alignment technology, a vehicle lift, diagnostic equipment, and access to professional technical information systems used throughout the motor industry.

Students can work on a variety of vehicles while developing practical skills, confidence, and an understanding of how a modern workshop operates.

Whether you’re interested in becoming a vehicle technician, working in fast-fit services, parts and stores, customer service, or simply learning valuable skills for your own use, this course provides an excellent introduction to the automotive industry.

We offer a range of Level 1 unit-based qualifications, allowing programmes to be tailored to individual interests and needs. These qualifications can support progression into further education, training, apprenticeships, and future employment within the motor vehicle sector.

With experience across both main dealerships and independent garages, I progressed from Vehicle Technician to Master Technician and developed a particular interest in vehicle tuning, working alongside some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field.

I am fully qualified in Motor Vehicle studies, have undertaken extensive continuous professional development, and hold Advanced Automotive Engineer status with the Institute of the Motor Industry.

Alongside my automotive background, I am a qualified teacher and assessor with many years of experience supporting learners of all ages and abilities. I have a strong interest in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), with qualifications and practical experience in supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Most importantly, I enjoy helping people build confidence, develop new skills, and achieve their goals in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
